That recollection above comes across a little wrong, I'm sure the way it was said was at fault, not so much what was intended to be said. With Buddy Holly it was already agreed he'd be on the show. He appeared with Bob Montgomery - they are the act referred to at the bottom of the poster:- "Buddy and Bob"A Boy From Tupelo wrote:Bill Myrick, DJ in Odessa: "When I came to the club that night [February 13th], Buddy Holly came up - he was about fifteen or sixteen [Buddy Holly was 18 years old in 1955] - he and two more boys. He said, 'Do you mind if I sit in with you?' I said, 'We don't play the stuff that you play, but i'd be glad to put you on during the intermission.' They [Elvis, Scotty and Bill] played for 45 minutes, and I could tell from the crowd that they really liked them. So, the next day, about anhour before the show, we had a packed house. I introduced Buddy Holly that day at the Coliseum. He was just a kid getting started.
The poster would have been at the printers long before the day of the gig or the day before, so if Buddy asked Bill he would have asked a while in advance.
Elvis leant Buddy his guitar and Buddy performed with it.
