The 'catfish' incident occurred on this date.

Kathy Westmoreland had ended her romantic/sexual 6-month relationship with Elvis when she realised there were other women in his life & by the time this tour started on 18th July, 1975, she was romantically involved with another [unnamed] band member.

Elvis started introducing her by making remarks about her seeking affection from anybody, anyplace at anytime, in fact,
"she gets it from the whole band" !

This led to her complaining to Tom Diskin.

This resulted in Elvis, on this date in Norfolk, saying that if she didn't like the way he introduced her, she could leave the stage.

When he then said his backing singers 'smelt like catfish', Estelle Brown & Sylvia Shemwell walked off the stage, followed by Kathy.

This left Myrna Smith the only female backing singer left on the stage.
