Had the jab....

Post by Alan » Thu Feb 04, 2021 6:32 pm

Made me feel like crap :D

Better and rather that than the alternative!

Just the beginning though, I can still catch it and spread it, so staying masked up and social distancing until everyone's protected.

How's everyone else doing. Colin, you may have had the vaccine first, not sure if they did it by age where you are or not.

Hope everyone's okay.

I had my first jab [Pfizer] on 8th January.

Warned to have Paracetamol on hand to counter the after-effects but didn't need it !

Felt fine.

I've read that they now think the Pfizer jab becomes 90% effective 21 days after the first one !

So It's looking good !

Update - 15th December, 2021:

Since the above post I've had my 2nd jab & the booster, along with the 'normal' Flu jab.

Tested [again] 2 days ago & it was negative !

So far, I've lost an ex-mother-in-law & an ex-brother-in law to Covid.

My daughter & her son [my grandson] both have had it but recovered quickly.

Will Xmas go ahead without further restrictions ?

Have to wait & see.

We're jabbed to the same degree Colin.
Came back from abroad a couple of weeks ago, had to do a 2 day test, then we came down with a coughing fit and loss of taste that lasted 10 days and tested a further 3 times during that period, all tests were negative.
Covid, like the common cold, is here to stay for a very long time, decades at least.
We have to learn to live with that, learn to adjust all our lives so that we can live with that and then get on with our adjusted lives.
Trying to live the same way we used to and hope that Covid will go away isn't really a realistic option.
