It's surprising that so many well-known photos of him, doing a wide variety of different things, have all been taken on this same day !

It's a very long day. Al Wertheimer was with the Colonel at 6:30am and didn't stop taking photos until after the Russwood Park show. I found it odd that with such a big show at stake that Elvis did things like go for a ride on his Harley and run out of fuel.
There's loads more photos to add still.
I wonder how many days were just like this one? Just that we have the benefit of this day being documented in photos and the others not.
Al seemed to get on well with Elvis, both in a capacity to be a fly on the wall cameraman and just as two blokes.
And yet after one of the longest days of being with each other he never got to be with Elvis again. He was one of many photographers when Elvis sailed to Germany, but I doubt Elvis even knew he was there.

The left photo, coloured,on the first page, of Elvis fixing his tie in front of a mirror is from June 30, 1956 at the Mosque.
