Elvis rehearses for his TV show with Ed Sullivan which will broadcast live tomorrow.

The rehearsal takes place at Television City, the West Coast studios of CBS Radio and Television.

Getting touched up in the dressing room before the rehearsal [or is it on the 9th for the broadcast ?]

Okay, no problem, we can always move them back.
For them to be the 9th we first have to accpept they can't be from the live broadcast.
We also have to accept that if they are from the 9th and not from the live broadcast that there was another rehearsal, possibly two rehearsals on the 9th as well as the live broadcast.
Are we agreed so far?

Edit: moved back to the 9th as additional evidence shows rehearsal also on the 9th

Changing my mind.
Yes, the photos are from a rehearsal, but though Elvis may have rehearsed today on the 8th I think he also rehearsed on the day of the broadcast.
Pre show Elvis is seen with fans in the seating area and photographers are also present. They can't photograph the show so they must have been photographing a rehearsal.
