On another forum, member Jupiter has posted [about the 2nd photo above]:

"13.April 1957 Elvis was the first contributor to Coffee Day for Crippled Children, a Memphis fund-raiser
Elvis Presley is pictured buying the first button at $1 for Coffee Day for Crippled Children from Monte Robinson, Memphis restaurant proprietor..."

Looks like the photo might be on the wrong date here.

I'd say they are both wrong if one is wrong as I'm sure both were taken on the same day as each other. I'll take a goosey.
